Austria’s capital community volunteers deliver fact-based drug education with young people across the city

Vienna — news eu gipfel 23 December 2025 — Volunteers linked to Foundation for a Drug-Free World Austria have expanded outreach in Vienna, engaging young people, parents and teachers via public information points and community events. The Vienna effort is led by Gabriele Toker, a local organiser, the initiative uses “Truth About Drugs” materials to provide straightforward information on drug risks, including the ongoing debate around cannabis, described by public monitoring bodies as the most widely used illicit drug in Europe. According to organisers, the Vienna activities aim to reach teenagers early, including at large public gatherings such as the Donauinselfest, while also supporting teachers seeking prevention tools for schools. Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, noted: “Prevention works best when young people receive verified information early, in plain language—strengthening public health and civic responsibility.”
